Cossack wagon tabor and Easter Weekend

Here are some photos of my Cossack wagon tabor that I finish a few weeks ago. I meant to put these up a few weeks ago but the batteries in my camera were dead so this post has had to wait until I got new ones. In the next 2 months I will only be painting bits and pieces for my Deluge collection as I am busy painting several hundred figures for an early Sudan participation game Nathan Vinson and I will be putting on at the Brisbane Easter convention. The convention is a great and relaxed 2 days of gaming in the heart of the CBD in Brisbane organised by Gerry Webb of Castaway Arts. If you are in Queensland come along and join in the games and sample the growing range of figures and terrain now available from Queensland companies. Gerry will have his large range of 25mm figues (Castaway Arts), Matthew will have his 15, 20 and 25mm ranges (Battlescape), Nathan Vinson will have a sample of his extensive 25mm range (Elite Miniatures), Kevin Jowett will have his new 25mm ACW range and extensive and excellent range of painted and unpainted building in 15mm, 20mm and 25mm from Hudson and Allen, Scenic Effects and Historical Building Authority. Check the Castaway Arts site for more details of the weekend. Come along and have great day of gaming in the airconditioned rooms of Chiffley of the Mall. See you all there, Scott.

Scott,
I have to admit that I am not in the same league when it comes to making terrain. The wagon tabor looks blooly impressive, well done Mate.

Thanks for that mate, swop you some terrain for some of your Macedonian collection. I am struggling through the Sudan stuff at the moment, luckily Leroy is going to paint some British and Egyptians for the game. Try and talk him into coming down for the weekend. Cheers Scott

Hi Scott,

Love your armies.

They've inspired me to grab some TAG Cossacks and Azabs.

The Azabs will also reinforce a Moldovian medieval host.

I'd like both armies to have wagons.

Where did you get your's? They look great.

Your Old Glory minis paint up really well. Pity about their poor website.

How do they compare size and sculpt wise to TAG?

Cheers for your assistance.

Rob

Hi Rob thanks for the kind words, I must say that I like all of the Old Glory foot packs from the Eastern Renaissance range and the specific Cossack range made for their skirmish rules. They all fit in well with TAG but TAG does have some cracking stuff. The Old Glory mounted figures are good for light cavalry and Dragoons but I do not like the Polish Hussars and Pancerni, the horses are just too small (I have a section about figures on the list site). The wagons are scratch built from balsa wood, metal wheels and plastic card, I will be using the new KingMaker models for my Poles (the Turks can have these). Cheers Scott
